Navy League Minnesota

Navy League Minnesota was successful in lobbying the SECNAV to name a Littoral Combat Ship after a city(s) in Minnesota.

In September 2015 SECNAV Ray Mabus announced at Target Field the naming of LCS 21 the future USS Minneapolis/St Paul.

While we do not know when the first steel will be cut, or date of any of the ceremonies.  We will post them here as soon as we know them.

USS Minneapolis/St Paul Honorary Commissioning Committee:

This Honorary Committee is typically made up of former politicians, community leaders, business leaders, etc.  While this will still be part of the process, it is our goal to honor post 9/11 combat veterans who are struggling with PTSD, are wounded warriors, and who's service to our country should be honored.  We have yet to define how this will be measured or chosen, but if you know of of veteran who would be a likely candidate, please contact us at bdskon@gmail.com.

We are pleased to announce that our first member of our Honorary Commissioning Committee is:

  • The Minnesota Military Radio Hour, hosted by US Air Force Veteran Tom Lyons

Donate to the USS Minneapolis/St Paul Commissioning Committee right here.  Our goal is $300,000.  You do not need a PayPal account, but you can just use CC processing.
